Program Title: The Origin of Cool

Miles Dewey Davis III was born 100 years ago May 26, in Alton, Illinois, destined to become one of the most transformative figures in modern culture. A visionary trumpeter, composer, bandleader, painter, and style icon, Davis spent five decades redefining sound and reshaping the boundaries of creative expression. His constant reinvention would influence not only generations of musicians, but also fashion, film, visual art, and global culture. The Sunset Apollo Marching Band and Auxiliary is proud to present The Origin of Cool.
