Mike Rubino


Biography

Mr. Rubino is from Morgan Hill, CA and was the longtime Director of the Live Oak High School Emerald Regime Band and Color Guard. Under Mr Rubino’s direction, the band and guard accumulated over 1000 awards including being crowned Bands of America Grand National Champion in 1976 and 1978. His judging experience spans 45 years and includes Drum Corps West, Drum Corps International, Indiana State School Music Association, Bands of America, Michigan Competitive Marching Band Association, South Carolina State Championships and the NWAPA. His international experience includes Drum Corps Japan, the Calgary Stampede, the Ministry of Education in Bangkok, Thailand, the Okayama marching festival and the Malaysia Tournament of Bands. Additionally, Mr. Rubino has been the Judge Coordinator for DCI Pacific since 1994. Mr. Rubino is a frequently requested clinician and his clinic presentations include Digital music in the classroom and How to build an effective field show and get the maximum credit. Mr. Rubino was recently inducted into the Bands of America Hall of Fame.
